The Freedom Trail was the brainchild of local journalist William Schofield, who in 1951 suggested building a pedestrian trail to link together important local landmarks. 2.5-mile, red-lined route marked with bricks.

Cambridge Tour


Situated north of Boston on the banks of the Charles River, Cambridge was settled by English Puritans in 1630.
